How to curb hunger after a big calorie burn?

2 - 3 times a week I do a big calorie burn workout, of around 1000 calories. I usually do it after work and I'm totally pooped after it and could easily go to bed with no dinner (I don't do this, I always eat something after). However the next day I'm totally starving and could eat a horse.
The days I don't do the big workout burn, I do smaller workouts; where I'm burning around 500 - 600 calories and I don't feel the need to eat a horse that day. I also have a rest day once a week.
I'm here to lose weight and don't want to undo all my hard work; any help?

Eat.
If you're burning 1000 calories on your heavy days and 500-600 on your light days, you need more to fuel your body. Honestly hunger cues are meant to get your attention, and if you really are hungry (not thirsty, bored, etc.) then you need to eat more.
If you have MFP set up correctly, based on your activity level & stats & goals, then its expected you'll eat back at least some of those exercise calories.0 -
When I have a big burn day, I eat more. As long as your net cals are just under goal, you're still in a calorie deficit and won't gain. Food is fuel - don't sell yourself short with big workouts and then not eating enough.0

Calorie burn gives you more calories to eat. Try eating about half.0

Try and average it out over the week?
I get this too.
The next day just eat more? If you're hungry, eat. If you're in a deficit overall for the weeks and months, then you will lose.0 -
I can't deal with it very well. So I stop long runs...I rather take 40 minutes in each run with a much clamer appetite than a long run of 800 calories burned then ended up eating whatever in sight...0
