I am looking for people who have lost over 200 pounds to add to my friend list. I have currently lost 158 pounds with about 77 pounds to go. I'm curious to see if there is some commonalities between us and what they are.

I have not lost 200lbs, but I am new to MFP and I am looking to lose 100lbs. I would love for you to add me as a friend so that I could get some tips from you on how you lost over 100lbs so far! Which is an AMAZING accomplishment by the way and congrats! My biggest issue is exercising, I HATE it, and staying motivated.0

I need to lose about 200 pounds (90kg), have lost 15lb in the past 3 weeks. Geez. Sounds horrible when I say it out loud. I basically have to lose a whole person. Would love to connect to other ladies who are in the same boat.0

Wow, that's impressive..
Has it taken you long to lose the weight?? how do you feel now??
Can you tell, me and others, the secrets to successful weight control, and generally getting slimmer?? that worked for you!!
I've about 100 pounds to lose..not exercising enough yet, but eating mostly healthily!! what i call healthy..anyhow.
thanks, Ros0 -
It's taken me a little over two years to lose this much weight. I use the biggest loser books as my base and build on what I've learned. The most important for me to have this kind of success was getting to the root of what caused my weight gain in the first place, getting that fixed and then setting myself up for success with eating right and exercising consistently. I eat whole and healthy small portions all types of food, nothing processed every 2-3 hours. I don't eat 3 hours before I go to bed. I track everything I eat and if I go over one day I don't beat myself up. My bad habits were not formed in a day it's gonna take a while to break them. I still have a non healthy meal once a week and give myself dessert 2x a week. I eat low fat, lean meat whole wheat breads and pastas and low fat dairy. I got rid of all the junk in my house whereas I don't tempt myself and sabatoge my progress
I work out every other day between 35 minutes to an hour and lift weights one of those days. I always take a day of rest in between so I don't get burnout and I do exercise that I enjoy so I won't stop. And most importantly I am patient with myself loving myself through the process. It took me 13 years to put the weight on. I'm not giving myself an unrealistic time to get it off. Slow and steady always wins the race. I also believe that I can. That is what has carried me through the rough days, the days of not working out or eating more junk food than I should. And I feel great! I can move faster and better and I look better in clothes.0 -
Hi,
thanks for the info.
You are right, i think, slow and steady!
The bad eating and extra weight went on over years, so it has to be tackled carefully and not too fast.
I like that you allow yourself 1 'cheat' meal, and 2 deserts a week. Altogether really hopeful and inspiring.
Thanks, Ros0
