So, I never really had a weight issue until I hit high school. I chose the classes that would require the least amount of exercise but still gave me the P.E. credits I needed to graduate.

My weight never bothered me and I still don't car what people think about the way I look. But, I wanted to start to lose weight after my Mom died from diabetes and two of my siblings were recently diagnosed with having the disease. I am 25 years old and want to take care of myself so that I can have a future and enjoy it without diabetes haunting me.

I did eventually lose 65 lbs this last year while traveling out of the country but soon gained it all back when I came back to the US. Now, I want to do this for real.

    Welcome!

You can (and will!) do this! Your reasoning is both sound and AWESOME. This is is a choice you are making to change a lifestyle, not just to look sassy in those tight pants. (Though it sounds like that could be a bonus!)
