Could someone please look at my diary for today please, my eating and food choices have been all over the place lately and I've not been making the best of choices, I'm still learning about food choices but just wanted to check I'm at least starting to go on the right path, I plan on adding cucumber and lettuce for my dinner tonight but can't add them yet cause I don't have the weights for them to be added. Any help is appreciated

lookin good! you've hit your protein and fat counts and youre still under your calorie limit id say some veggies would be best to add to get your carb count a little higher, but other than that you are definitely on the right rack
edit; one thing i will add is be careful with adding "homemade" or "generic" stuff, i see you have homemade deep fried chips in your diary and these counts can be pretty innaccurate sometimes0 -
A good day. Maybe you could add a little protein to your breakfast by adding a few nuts (protein and essential oil). Keep up the good work0

Yeah I agree with the chips but can't really figure a way to get a proper calorie count for them I did reasearch about the calories and they're all over the place so just used one from here, and for the breakfast I can't eat nuts hate the taste of them but will find another source of protien to use instead. Thank you, much appreciated0

I have an egg white omelette for breakfast. I buy the product "Two chicks" at Waitrose in the butter section , it is just egg whites. Easy to use no egg shells and no yokes (yokes have high fat content). Pity about not enjoying nuts as they are quite filling and make you feel full for a long time.0

The home fried chips is a hard one - anything will be an estimate. If you have 50g then part of that is oil, part of it is potato. I think I would use the info from a fast food place such as KFC since I know they fry their potato wedges. Not exact, but probably in the right neighborhood.0

For accurate counts on homemade stuff, use the recipe function, and just add in all the ingredients, including any oil used for cooking.0

Everything looks good so far, just make sure you drink a few more glasses of water throughout the day.0

Kerri, you are staying within your limits and off to a good start, but I would suggest that you substitute some of the processed foods with fresh vegetables and fruit. Instead of the chips, you could have a baked potato, salad or sliced tomatoes. I have made "oven fries" by tossing potato wedges in a small amount of olive oil with a little salt and other seasonings, laying them out on a baking sheet, and baking them in a 400 degree oven until they are golden brown. I don't know the celseus (sp) equivalent to 400 degrees. They are delicious.
The recipe function in MFP is fabulous. I use it a lot because I cook nearly all my dinners from scratch.0 -
Thanks I've took your advise and changed the chips to mcdonalds ones cause they are cooked very similar. Think I'm going to give the sweet potatoe fries ago found a nice recipe on pinterest. Water is a hard one for me, normally I don't drink any but for the last couple of days I've been getting in 8 glasses, it's a work in progress. Again thanks to everyone0

Did you mean to keep all three of the french fry entries? Otherwise it looks great.
I would never suggest you change it if it is what you like, but I could never use 150 calories for my coffee! It would be a luxury item I would have to save for and have once in a while or I'd always be over. I drink quite a few cups in the day so I use no cal sweetner and skim milk :drinker:0 -
Haha no I was comparing them the others they are deleted now, but after looking through fast food chains the original estimate wasn't that far out. I'm a coffee addict managed to cut it down to 3 a day, i used to drink it all day everyday, another work in progress0
