Losing weight, high carb diet, and binge eating

I just wanted to post my own experiences with binge eating as I approached my target weight.
Before I discovered MFP I had never been susceptible to binge eating, but as I approached my maintenance weight this became a regular occurrence.
At this time my diet was carb heavy and when I binged it was always the same stuff - ice cream, cereal, cakes, and the like.
In recent weeks I have greatly increased my intake of protein and fats (fish, eggs, meat, milk, nuts, cheese) and reduced the sugary stuff. Maybe it's just a coincidence but the desire to binge has now stopped. Admittedly I have gained a couple of pounds but I am still slightly under my target weight and more importantly free from late night pig-outs.
I don't intend to draw any conclusions from this but perhaps my case might help others in similar circumstances?
