Getting closer but still feeling so far away...

I have now lost 91 lbs.... I feel so close to making it to 100 but at the same time I feel like I'm slowing down and don't have the same fire or motivation that I did months ago. I get discouraged thinking of how far I still need to go vs. how far I have come. I try and do all of the motivational things like look at pictures side by side, think of the benefits of my health, and try to stay positive but it's just not working the same way. Does anyone else feel this way and have advice for me?

Hi there! Congratulations on your awesome success thus far!!

We are in similar boats it appears, as far as what we need/ want to lose. I just passed the 100 lbs lost mark, and honestly, it was anticlimactic. I too had a recent slow down in rate of loss, and I guess I didn't have expectations for reaching the 100 mark. There are days when I just need to "fake it 'till I make it". I am working to keep emotions out of the equation...not eating for emotional reasons, not getting all caught up in the numbers on the scale. This is a departure from previous weight loss efforts and I really feel like it will "stick"...the lifestyle change aspect. I also think that it will help at the time aim ready to maintain...keeping things even keel, knowing things will fluctuate and not letting it throw me into a tailspin, not feeling letdown when the scale doesn't move, which is the point of maintenance but from what I understand, can be a tough transition.

I guess what I am saying is what has been said by others more eloquently, that motivation waxes and wanes but determination is what it takes to continue on towards goal. Some days I just look at calories in as a math problem to solve...

You can and will be successful...look at what you have done already!! If you can keep on keeping on even when motivation is hard to find, you can do ANYTHING!!

You'll get there! One day at a time. You've done amazing to get this far. I quit ever other month. You have to have created some really good habits to stick with it this long. Just keep doing what your doing, which ROCKS!!

take a week off and eat at maintenance. Renew yourself. Think about how much you have accomplished. Relax. Begin anew.
