I've always heard that running with weights can cause injuries.0

Why would you want to do this?0

I don't think you'll see the Return on Investment on this that you're hoping for.0

Gone your arms or tone your arms?
It might increase your calorie burn somewhat, but very slightly.
It won't work the specific muscles in your arms that give you a nice defined shape.
It may impede your running form, since use of arms is quite important when running.0 -
No. The weights interfere with your natural running motion and may cause injury as a result.0

I don't... But I carry a small water bottle that people could arguably call a "weight".
I guess you could try carrying 2 water bottles & see if you like it before you spend any $0 -
Joint wear and injuries....joint wear and injuries everywhere.
Use a vest if you want added weight while running.0 -

Bad idea. Skip ankle weights, etc. too. They add unnatural stress to the body & can lead to injuries.0

I think it would do more damage than it helped.0

If you want more intensity in your run, run faster, longer or at an incline.
If you want to make strength gains, do separate strength training.0 -

I cannot even begin to imagine trying this. Oh the unnecessary upper body fatigue, not to mention the chance of injury for wrists/elbows/shoulders.
Skip wearing the weights and when you get back from your run (or before you head out) do a few sets of push-ups/bicep curls/squats with a press at the end.0 -
Thanks for the responses. Think that's a no then. Thanks goodness as tried it this morning and it was horrendous! X0
