Do I have to continue circuit training

So I am not quite at goal yet but getting close. (Thought I had a goal number in mind but might change based on how I look). Anyway I've been doing 30 day shred which is circuit training. Once I reach maintenance do I have to continue circuit training or can I lift and do cardio seperatly?

I'm not maintaining yet, but I would say you can do whatever you want . Anything you like is good, just be careful tracking your calorie burn so that you eat the appropriate number of calories. May take some trial and error unless you have a HRM.0

I know by burning calories I will keep weight off but I know I need weights to keep my body tight. But do I need circuit training to keep it tight0

Regular weight training with heavy weights is better for keeping your muscles tighter than circuit training with light weights.0

Many, many people do lifting & cardio separately. Both to get to their fitness goals and to stay there.0 -
Sounds like you need a change? I like variety and can get bored with the same work out routines. At the moment I love kettle bells and power walks in a few months time who knows. For sure when I start to feel bored I find another exercise otherwise I end up doing nothing and eating the same cals = weight gain.
Try something new classes, different sports - there are so many things you can do/try.0 -

My sister does circut training, cardio and Karate and has BF% of about 20%, maybe lower...
resistence training works as well and 30DS and other videos like that all contain resistence training.
As long as you are taxing the muscle you are on the right path.
Just choose what you want to do...0 -
Thank you for all the responses. I have 10 days left of 30 day shred. After that I'd like to throw the earbuds in and just lift. I use 5 ad 8 lb weights for the video but want to do heavier ones to do some sets. Then my cardio can be outside enjoying the nice weather!0

I've never done circuit training in my life....and I've been maintaining for 12+ months...and I'm pretty tight.
your fitness goals should dictate what you do in RE to exercise...0 -

That's very reassuring. and congrats on 12+ months of maintenance!!!!0 -
Tl;dr answer: no.
Weight training and cardio are two different things to get to two different (and complimentary) goals. I do cardio five days a week (and seven days if you count yard work) and lift three to four days a week.
As long as there's consistency and progression in whatever exercises you choose, progress keep happening.0
