Smaller Deficit?

I'm 9 lbs away from my goal and was wondering if it would be a good time to adjust to lose .5 lbs a week? I'm currently set to lose .7 lbs a week since the end of March and have lost 4 lbs. Should I continue at .7 a week or would it be better to go to .5? I've read in the forums about muscle loss if you try to lose at too great a deficit once you're close to goal. Could sure use some advice from others wiser than me on the subject. Thanks in advance!
