Increased Exercise Intensity Also Increased My Appetite

Trying to get over my weight loss plateau, I dramatically increased the intensity of my work outs about a month ago. Doing this has caused my appetite to also go up a lot as my body feels like it needs to eat more to refuel itself. As a result, my calorie deficit is extremely small and I'm barely losing weight if at all. I want to eat less but I get so hungry. Drinking extra water and cutting out most starches has not helped tame my hunger. I feel kind of burned out right now and reaching my goal weight 15lb away seems so far away.

if you're following MFP method then you should be eating more if you're burning more anyway?
with 15lbs to lose a deficit of 250 cals is sufficient anyway. slow weight loss is still weight loss!0 -
Same here, I went from no cycling to cycle commuting nearly every day in 2013 and clocking up 8000 miles.
The feeling of wanting to eat loads was worse over the winter than over the summer (although weather and mood may have had some effect there).
However, my fitness has increased even if my weight hasn't gone down that much, which is a big plus for me, winter miles make summer smiles
Currently this year I am now doing a 14mph to 15mph avg speed over 20 mile and 30 mile distances, which is much better than last year (averaging 40 miles to 50 miles a day). There are much much faster people out there than me though

Slow weight loss is better weight loss. Don't get discouraged. It will pick back up. You're getting hungrier because you're burning more. That's normal. On heavy work out days, I can sometimes eat 400 cals more than I would normally.0
