insanity and carbs

I'm concerned with the amount of carbs the meal plan for insanity has set. It seems like so many carbs. I know you need energy for a workout like insanity, I just don't see how eating that many carbs and that much gluten can be best for weight loss? Can someone please share their opinion..tia.

As long as you're in a calorie deficit, it makes no difference if those calories are carbs, fats, proteins, etc., you will lose weight. If you're talking body composition, a little more emphasis is placed on those 3 macros, but in the end, calorie deficit = weight loss.

Hi, what phase of the meal plan are you in and how many carbs is it suggesting? Optimizing macros can help you lose weight faster, but being at a calorie deficit is the most important thing.

in order to do intense program like that (for longer then 1 week) your body will need more carbs then you would typically use for normal moderate excersizes. As you tweak your targets you'll ntoice the percentages of proteins/fats lower. All three will still equate to you total cals per day :)

The key here is you'll need to stick with the program as much as you can (yes you can take breaks but it's a big mind game, kick your mind outa the equation and get back into the action). Stick with the meal plan for a month and continue to track your foods to assess where you stand. Good Luck!!!

Agree with this 100%! When I started Insanity I was also doing P90X3 and focusing more on protein than carbs, it took a week for my body to give me the big F* you and decide it was too exhausted. You don't have to stick directly to the guide, but I highly suggest you figure out what works for your body and go with that!

Gluten has NOTHING to do with weight loss. I'll let you figure out what level of carbs works best for you. Beyond that, I'd suggest you start here:
