Groin Abductor Strain?

Hiya. I suspect that I have strained or pulled my groin abductor on the left side. Backstory: I've been lifting heavy for about 5-6 weeks, following SL5x5. I only recently figured out proper deadlift form, and during one deadlifting session with improper form (about 3 weeks ago) I felt a pain/pull in my innermost thigh which started directly next to my groin and spread out towards the mid thigh (so a pain that stretched halfway between my knee and crotch). I would describe it more as a "pop" or a "weird feeling" than pain, but anyway, it went away about 30 minutes after I finished working out.
I am now deadlifting properly and progressing in weight. However, I still get the "weird feeling" in the same spot when squatting. As I come up out of the lift, there it is. It doesn't "hurt" and it's not keeping me from lifting heavy/progressing. I don't feel it when I do body weight squats, I did a squat form check this morning, watched myself in the mirror and everything looks good. I always warm up on an elliptical for 5 mins then do a couple warm up sets and dynamic stretching before I start lifting my working weights. It's almost as though my body just remembers this injury exists when I squat with weight... it doesn't bother me during any other activity.
Do I really just need to rest this up and give squats a rest for a while? Squatting is my number one FAVORITE thing right now, and the idea that I really just have to stop is super disheartening. I thought maybe squatting with a narrower stance/not as deep with lower weight than I am capable of might be good. This morning I did 45x5, 75x5, 85x5x3, 95x5, 105x5 - I did this with my normal stance/depth, and the feeling increased with each increase of weight, but didn't "hurt" to the point that I couldn't do it.
Any help from experienced lifters is much appreciated!
ETA: I guess I'm just hoping to have someone answer with "yes this happened to me, and I was able to work through it like this:....", but I figure people are just going to tell me to either see a Dr. or rest.
