I looked through your diary. It seems fine to me, Your not a lot under so its unlikely you would go into starvation mode.0

Deprivation leads to disaster for some people, so, it's good that you're treating yourself.
Maybe you can try rounding out your diet a little to up the calorie intake?
Focus on higher fat dairy, whole grains, lean proteins, nuts, nut butter, and things like avocado
to meet your daily calorie goal.0 -

Starvation mode is a myth where most western diets are concerned.
It would take months of malnourishment to reach the point that most of us consider "starvation mode".0 -
I get that message too some nights. It's because we are both on a 1200 calorie limit and the site considers this the absolute lowest amount of calories that should be consumed in a day. I try to stay as close to 1200 as I can but if I go under by a little and I'm not hungry, I don't just eat because the tool tells me too :-) If you aren't getting the message every single night and you feel like you are getting the right amount of nutrition, I wouldn't worry about it.0

I wouldn't worry. You know your body better than anyone else. If you feel like you've had enough for the day then your body has told you that its had enough. Some days we just aren't hungry and others we seem like we just can't get enough. Always listen to your body's cues and don't listen to a computer program. It doesn't know what's going on inside.
Good luck!!0 -
Well, since you are eating at 1200 a day, it's really tricky. You really don't want to be eating under that very often, even though you're trying to lose weight. Starvation in itself is obviously something that most westerners don't have to worry about, but your body responding to low calorie intake as if you were going through a famine is very real. Maybe famine mode would be better, but whatever the case, your body picks up on when it is getting too little energy to perform its tasks and starts to change the way it performs.
Anyway, I suggest you try to do a little exercise here and there, and then eat back the exercise calories. That way you won't be under 1200, MFP won't give you that message, and you'll be building muscle as you lose weight, rather than possibly losing muscle (one way your body makes up for low calories is to basically cannibalize muscle and turn it into energy. This also gives you less muscle mass, and consequently fewer calories needed in the day, which is what your body is aiming for in a famine mode).0 -
I was like that, but my calorie count would be 200-300 calories too low. My sister started getting after me, because I was complaining about not losing any wt. so I started eating more. Great things happened I lost three lbs in one week. So I now I reall y try to eat snacks and keep my intake up.0

Well, I looked at your food log and it needs work, I'll lay it out for you, you are eating too many carbohydrates and too much sugar, and too much junk also I didn't see that you were drinking enough water. Believe me, I hate drinking water but ever since I started forcing it down it's been helping me lose the water retention.
I don't know where you live and if you have access to fruits and vegitables, but you need to add more of those, try getting some red, green, yellow peppers, red onions and chop up into large pieces and toss them in a little bit of olive oil with garlic salt and pepper and roast them in the oven...they are yummy. I know if you live in an area where healthy foods are limited it's difficult, or if you are a college student and you live in a dorm.
Get creative with whole grains, Quiona, black beans, whole wheat pasta with vegitables, lean chicken.
Snacks like apples and peanut butter (be cautious with this major calories)
Laughing cow cheese on celery
Cucumber, vegetable slices with hummus
Almonds (not too many, they are good fats but rack up the calories)
Energy bar
On your menu you have baked beans, potato waffle?, tic tacs, kit kat bar, galaxy ripple bar? corn on the cob, on previous menu's you have a lot of pre-packaged foods which are really high in sodium and WILL make you blow up like a tick.
So, my advice to you is don't cheat in entering your calories your are cheating yourself, eat more fresh whole foods, less salt and sugar, and drink your water.0 -
Thankyou, im deffo gona try and cut out the junk i start 2morro! I'll make a point of going & buying more fresh fruit & veggies & gotta drink more water! Ive heard green tea is good?0
