Can weight stay static because water % has gone up?

Hi,
This probably sounds completely nuts but I haven't lost any weight in about 10 days, despite continuing to be very committed to my diet and exercise plan. I recently bought some body fat % scales and the are showing that my fat percentage has gone down but my water % has gone up. Could this be why I'm not losing weight, or are the scales just really inaccurate? I find it so demotivating not to have lost anything and I'm only 7lbs from the goal weight I initially set myself so it's hard to be so near but yet so far!
If anyone has any thoughts I'd love to hear them.

Water retention could be masking weight loss. It happens for any number of reasons e.g. eating a lot of sodium, TOM etc. If you're still eating at a deficit and exercising I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially since ten days isn't all that long in the grand scheme of things.0

It is REALLY hard to measure body fat %, dont get too hung up on what your scales say.0

Thanks for the feedback, it's really helpful! I do get too hung up on all the numbers and I am quite impatient as well. Hopefully th weight will start to come down in the next week or so.0

If you drink a lot of water it pushes the fat through... Keep drinking! If you are a creature of habit eating certain foods see which ones made you stall. I can't eat apples cuz I my weight stalls each time.0

Weight loss is not linear. If you are sure your calorie estimations are correct and that you are eating within your calorie goals, then you need to be patient.
Weight loss scales showing body fat, etc. are not real accurate but they can be used as a guideline.0 -

Also, certain foods don't make a person's weight stall, eating too much food in general does that.0 -
Yeh, I have to remember that it takes time. If I think back I did once lose 8lbs in a week after three weeks with no movement so I guess it was just taking its time to work through. I'm sure I'm eating within my limits, I've lost 64lbs so far and this is the last 7 so I need to not try and sprint to the finish!0
