Hi, I have had myself as light active (1200 cals) but just changed to active but wanted some opinions. I do 3 school runs on foot per day 2 x 40 mins and 1 x 25 mins, I have started c25k which I do 3 days per week, or a Jillian Michaels workout, and cycle 20 mins up& down hill to work 3/4 nights a week - on top of this I use my fitbit to step around the house while doing housework - I only sit down to eat my lunch then the 4 hours i'm at work. Was I right to say im "active"??

The categories of active/ lightly active etc are just rough guides to get you started. Pick one, try for a few weeks, assess results, amend.0

I was actually taught a way to figure it out by a good mfp buddy yesterday since I also had the same concern. What you do is figure out what your p.a.l. By calculating your t.d.e.e. And dividing that number into your bmr. If you have an answer of 1.2ish it's sedentary 1.4 ish light active 1.6 ish is active and higher than 1.9 is extremely active0
