Perplexed about Proteins.... PLEASE HELP !!!!

Hey All,
I am back with my confusions !!!! PLEASE HELP !!!
I went to GNC to buy protein powder and after talking to the sales guy there I GOT TOTALLY CONFUSED ABOUT PROTEINS. Well !!! He "sounded" quite "knowledgeable" about protein supplements. According to him, I should have a scoop of protein before my workouts and a scoop after my workouts. and a whey protein scoop before going to bed..... SO FAR I HAVE BEEN TAKIN PROTEIN SHAKES AFTER WORKOUTS AND NOT BEFORE WORKOUTS.
Also, if he said that if I was having a protein shake for weight loss or to ensure a good protein intake as per my weight (something like maxitone diet/sculptress or Phd Diet Whey), I didnt need to have a whey protein isolate. He told me that "if your body doesnt use protein it just flushes it out"..The protein that is not used by body would turn into FAT.......... IS IT TRUE?
I weigh around 227 pounds and aim to get around 110-120 gms of proteins daily. Is it enough for weight loss ? After talking to him, I have got loads of doubts in my mind coz I did see a slow down in my weight loss after I started consuming protein shakes. Although, I make sure that they fit in my daily calorie amount.
Here is what I do at the moment:
Morning Workouts.
1) (Maxitone Sculptress - 32g protein) Protein shake immediately after workout + Breakfast after 1 hr of workout
2) (Soya Isolate - 24g protein) Protein shake towards evening - as mid evening meal.
Evening Workouts:
1) (Soya Isolate - 24g protein) Protein shake first thing in the morning...
2) (Maxitone Sculptress - 32g protein) Protein shake after workout.....followed by dinner(after an hour or so)
I usually aim to get at least 30gms of proteins at breakfast or early morning in order to replenish its protein stores first thing in the a.m and later have another protein shake towards evening.
1. Are protein shakes the reason behind the slow down in my weight loss ? ( I did notice a drop in my weight loss after I started having protein)
2) What's the best time to have proteins ?
3) Whats the best time to have soya protein and best time to have whey protein ?
4). I have around 110-120 gms of proteins daily. Is it enough for weight loss or is it too high for weight loss ?
5) Having a whey protein scoop before going to bed. Good idea?

I'm right there with you - that is CONFUSING!!!!
Maybe talk to a nutritionist about getting more protein in your food.0 -
Your knowledgable, GNC sales rep is an idiot. Three protein shakes/day is 2 shakes too many...not to mention it would get expensive!
Eat as your normally would prior to your workout. You are best off if you don't consume a lot of fat in this meal. Take a protein shake within 30 minutes following your workout with a fast digesting carbohydrate (banana, berries). Keep your last meal to a fibrous carb and protein source (chicken and broccoli).
As far as shakes go... it doesn't matter. Just don't use a 'weight gainer'. Keep the calories around 100-150/serving with 3-8 carbs/serving.0
