I'm negative 2000 calories for the week also, but that's because it's Sunday morning (the first day of the week) and I haven't eaten yet.

Hard to tell what you mean, but if you mean you're 2000 calories under the weekly goal that MFP has set for you, then it means you're doing it wrong.

well it means you are doing this wrong...

If it's red you ate/drank too much
if it's green you didn't eat or drink enough.

Generic - Homemade Rib Eye Steak, 10.4 oz? That would feed me my partner and 1 of my kids....
Homemade - Fried Onion Rings, 8 rings? Key word.. Fried....
Alcohol- Your drinking way way way to much of the stuff....

In my personal opinion its a pretty bad week , I'm not going to walk on egg shells with what i think here , its way way to much crap in 1 week if your on a personal mission to better your health/body. Cheat days exist for a reason , cheat weeks don't exist for a reason.

You need be a long stronger and stricter on yourself with the booze , you have drunk to much of the stuff , avoid fried foods at all costs and for the love of god portion control your food.

as I said you are doing it wrong.

no need to even see the diary.

MFP is set up so you have a deficet built in to lose the amount of weight you requested, plus you eat exercise calories...

If you are over by 2k...you may gain 1/2lb...if you are under than you are not fueling your workouts properly.

See either way you are doing it wrong.

You need some consistency, man. Your diary is all over the place, and not terribly nutritious. Find some balance. If you're 2000 calories under your weekly goal, you're eating too little too often. If you're 2000 calories over your weekly goal, you're eating too much too often. It's hard to tell which it is based on looking at a week of your entries. Find some balance.

Hi Manny. In your previous thread you said that the alcohol consumption was at "pre-diet levels", but that doesn't seem to have changed.

Why don't you try seven days of very accurate counting? Weigh everything and record it in grams and millilitres rather than cups or rashers? Count everything - for example you are having fried breakfasts but not counting the oil, you are drinking vodka but there's no mention of mixers.

You asked what the 2000 value referred to, but do you have any concerns about your diet other than that?

You need to work on accurately logging and exercising moderation...

Also consider purchasing a food scale and weighing everything if you haven't already.

I think the weekends are holding you back. I am not sure what your goals are, but more accurate logging and getting a handle on all the alcohol calories would be a good base to start with. I used to drink a lot on the weekends too, but not that much and I adjusted my diet accordingly. If you are in a surplus those alcohol calories are not doing you any favors and your fat macros on your drinking days are way too high.

Many thanks to all of you for your thoughts.

I've lost 4ibs so far since May 1st

I think the last couple of weekends have gone a little adrift.

I've been saving the calories during the week mon-fri if you see what I mean.

Working out regularly and have stopped the weekday boozing which I was and had been doing on a very regular basis.

I want to lose between 14-20 pounds and feel that being too too restrictive will just get very depressing !

When it came to the MFP I entered in my details and included 4 days of workouts. It has given me a TDEE of 2920. Goals are

2420 calories per day for 1 ib a week weight loss..

I take it the TDEE is maintenance calories ??

So either way you look at it am I right in assuming with my profile :-

    6ft 3

    242 ibs

    4 days week training

Do my calories of around 2500 a day sound right ????
