Question about honey

Ok so for my breakfast i eat about 200g plain yogurt. Sometimes i add some mixed berries. For an extra special treat id add honey. My question is if i started having honey every day for my breakfast would this be really bad? Would it throw off my weight loss? I mean i know it adds about 100 calories but id still be sure to be on target or under calorie wise. Im just wondering if having honey every morning for breakfast will be like having chocolate every day for breakfast.

And what would be wrong with having chocolate for breakfast?
I know there is so much misinformation out there about "bad" foods, but unless you are going over your calorie goal because of that honey (or chocolate), or you have some medical issue that makes you unable to eat a specific food, EAT IT.
Honey is fine. Chocolate is fine. Deep fried cheesecake on a stick is fine, if you work it into your meal plan.0 -

as long as you stay within your goals and don't have medical issues, eat any kind of food that you like/want to eat (I do - every day) - just learn self-control and moderation!0 -
I have golden syrup on my porridge every morning - measured and logged. I also have a small lump of chocolate and a glass of wine most evening - again all measured and logged. It is not stopping me from losing weight Honey is a very nice way to add a little sweetness to your yoghurt - which can have an acid aftertaste and is no worse than adding sweetness through any other means - except it has less fiber and vitamins than fruit!0

Totally agree with ^^, if you're not going over (or too much under) your calories you can eat anything. The only time that might not be true is if you're following a specific diet plan due to health concerns (such as cancer or allergies or whatnot). In that case you really shouldn't be eating foods you can't have. As for the porridge, I always used to add some maple syrup or honey to mine. I don't eat grains anymore, but I can still remember it was pretty good. (The reason I don't eat them anymore is because, unlike you, it was one of the reasons I was not losing weight)0

Honey has many therapeutic benefits. The primary one, because it comes from pollen it is supposed to give some protection from hay fever. I think the Pharaohs took it with them into the afterlife but I can't remember why. Also there were/are some medical products which also use honey as an antiseptic or healing agent. There is so much which if in general good for everyone.
Unfortunately it is no good for me. I like others am salicylate sensitive and Honey is one of the worst foods for us because pollen is rich in salicylate though possibly some may be less rich than others like fruits and veg have different amounts. The symptoms we might have in common, though this is a fluctuating even sporadic problem because we don't eat the same foods every day, we can experience pain in joints from one to many, breathing problems which can include bronchitis, skin problems of all kinds, we don't all have the same list all problems or individually have them at the same time. It makes for an interesting read if you can get past the so called beneficial and cosmetic effects.
If you can eat it with impunity and within your daily calories, go for it. You are changing your life health wise and this does not mean becoming a wet blanket.0 -

Yes I agree, it depends what your goals are. If you can fit it into your calorie and macro split, then enjoy it!! Why not!0

I have honey in my cup of tea each night, it's so lovely and warming. Definitely nothing wrong with honey, if it fits in your calorie goals!0
