So I have been diligent since December 1/13 - just shy of a pound a week, slow and steady making sure I stay on track this time. I started tracking again on MFP three weeks ago and was feeling pretty good. Almost 30 pounds gone and I need a new outfit for my son's grad. Let's go shopping!! Biggest disappointment ever. The same size I wore before I lost any weight - nothing looked good.
I came away with those old feelings of disgust and shame. I know I have done well, but it just feels like it was for nothing. I have sooooo far to go, at least another 100 lbs, so I don't know why I would think I'd be down even a size, but it would have been nice. One of the girls at work has lost the same amount and looks like a completely different person (mind you she is much shorter than I), just adds to my frustration. My apologies for the rant - please keep posting the before and afters - it helps sooooo much.

Don't get discouraged!!!! It totally depends on where you went shopping! One retailer's "size 12" is another retailer's "size 8" or "size 14". Trust me on this. I worked in the garment industry. Depending on where the manufacturer is making their clothes influences what they have determined to be the "fit model" sample. It's discouraging to just look at the clothing size, in the same way that just looking at the scale doesn't tell you what you need to know. Ignore the dress "size", go find something you like, put it on, and pick what looks good on you!!!!0
