I had some old scales I had been using and they were working but I wanted some new ones so I could see daily how much was coming off. So I bought the new Ditidital one it said I actually weighted 6 more pounds than my older ones did. so Im sure I started with 6more pounds than I thought...which scales should I believe? Im thinking the new ones...they also say I already loss a pound so it wont be long and Ill be caught up with what my old scales had said. so i dont want to change my weight figures...what do you all think?

My digiscale can give me easily 4 different weights just by getting on and off it. If the number's preposterous, try again, but don't make it into a step class0

I would just go off the new ones. They're probably more accurate and every scale is different. I bet if you bought a different kind (not digital) you'd get a whole different number from the other two. If you want to continue keeping track on here, just add 6 lbs to your starting weight and put your current actual weight from the digital ones. Then you're truly still keeping track and you won't look (on MFP, not your body) or feel like you've backtracked.0

unless you buy professional scales, you can never belive what they say. just moving on them will get you different readings. If you want to check them, weigh your self on doctors scales then conpare.0

LK, I had the same thing happen when I bought my digital scale about 2 months ago. Mine indicated I weighed 2 pounds more than my old scale. I finally did change the numbers - it made me feel better. I too am assuming that I was 2 lbs heavier to begin with - and that's okay because I know where I am going, and know that I am making the progress that I have determined for myself each month. So, I am right on target and feeling good about it.

me too vickie...I want to stay on target and I feel my digital is more correct....I dont have to go to the Dr. office that much so Ill just have to stay on track with my ditital scales...0

The digital scales we have are a bit.... well temperamental.... I got 12 different weights in one go and the top and bottom ones were 2 stone apart. Turned out because it works on 4 little sensor pads underneath the wonky bathroom floor was sending them out.0

I made sure I got a digital scale that used strain gauge technology (sounds more exotic than it is--it cost less than $30). There is no way to "calibrate" it, but it does provide consistent readings. You do have to be careful about where you place it on the bathroom tiles.0

My scale is digital, and it gets all pissy if you move it (I think its because it might be uneven in other areas)...I remember one time my husband put the scale in the kitchen instead of the bathroom, and it said I gained 3lbs...took it back, put it where I usually have it, and I was back to normal....so they are just weird sometimes.0

I got the top end weight watchers digi scales and they are useless, the change weight when i move them. i have to weigh myself 6 times and take the worst one.0

I work at the hospital and the only weight I record is off that scale. The one at home is at least showing less than it did, so I am using it just to keep any eye on my weight flucuations.0 -

I usually weigh myself a few times and take the worst reading and use that.0
