weight not coming off as easily and first gain help

this is my 50th day of consistently logging all of my food on my fitness pal. At first i lost really quickly and was able to go over my calories once or twice a week and still see a loss, now everything has slowed down understandably so, i understand thats what is meant to happen. Last week I stayed the same weight and this week I gained 1lb.

Any advice for keeping the losses going? I have reduced my calorie goal by 100 calories and I am planning on going for more walks. I am still motivated to keep going!

I'm going to borrow from one of my previous posts...

Weight loss isn't linear, it comes in highs and lows... don't always expect to see results, especially on a scale. Nothing to stress about. Stay positive!

    And add...

As long as you're eating at a deficit, and honestly and accurately logging everything from food to activity, than that weight will continue to come off, even if it slows down or seems to stop some times. I've read about people having reached plateaus that lasted longer than a month, so really, honestly, it is nothing to worry about. Just keep up the good work, and I'll reiterate... stay positive!

There are many factors that can play into it...like sodium and other things that can cause water retention as well as bathroom issues. Also, are you working out? If so, if you are sore from a workout then you are retaining water in that muscle group. You will likely see a larger amount of "weight gain" when your legs and butt are sore from a workout than if your arms or core are.

If you see an upward trend for three weeks then re evaluate. Chances are the scale will be down some on your next weigh in. Good luck!

Tis true. And I see you're female, OP. Guess why that may throw a wrench right onto the scale sometimes

Other than that just make sure you're really on point with your logging - weighing everything, logging sauces condiments treats cheats splurges, I couldn't care less days, somebody else made this, restaurant meals etc. And make sure you're eating a reasonable portion of your exercise calories back, ie, if the numbers seem inflated you may need to eat back just a fraction

Losing weight is not a straight line. You'll have good and bad weeks. It sounds like you need to optimize your nutrition a bit though. How many calories are you eating? What is your macro ratio? You may also want to change up how you exercise. Adding in some more intense exercises will shock the system and should get things moving again.
