gentle cardio videos?

Options
hey everyone, i've been doing slim in 6 for about 3 weeks, but i haven't been able to move on to phase 2 yet because i can't quite do all the lunges and squats in phase 1. i'm looking to do a longer workout, so i usually repeat phase 1 but i skip over the lunges and squats to do just the cardio and abs, then play it a 3rd time just to use the timer in the video to stretch the entire time. i am looking for a separate cardio video to add to my routine so i can burn off a little more and something gentle for the day after. can anyone recommend something? my legs just feel like jello by the time i'm done with the lunges and my legs are the only thing that's sore the next day.

How about just walking? That's about as gentle cardio as you get.

I agree, walking is great. If you want/need to stay indoors, check out the Walk Away the Pounds videos by Leslie Sansone. You could also swim, do yoga, bike, use an elliptical, etc. Just about anything exercise can be gentle, it's up to you to control the level of effort.

I can't recommend Leslie Sansone's videos highly enough. I used to do an ancient Kathy Smith fat burning aerobics video but it had a lot of jumping and lunging. Leslie's pace is a lot more user friendly, while being a serious sweat/calorie burn. It's also easy to jack up the intensity by jogging through it instead of walking. Some find her personality a little too peppy; I know that some of her DVD's offer the workout routines with just music. She has a bazillion DVDs to choose from. Honestly, she got me exercising consistently again after feeling really frustrated - and I find that priceless.

I like Richard Simmons' Sweatin to the Oldies 3. It's an hour long, it's a good workout and there are no lunges and squats. It might not be hard enough for you, but it's so much fun!!!

I agree with the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos. She has so many to choose from and they are all great. I'm doing Slim in 6 right now too, and also have a lot of other beachbody workouts. However, if I go back to Leslie every so often because she's so great.

Leslie Sansone Walk at Home DVD's. I love her workouts. Simple and easy to follow. And if you get to a point where you want to make if harder you can add your own stuff into it (burpees, push ups, lunges, squats, kettle bells...whatever, be creative:) She also has a handful of her workouts free on youtube.

Another great free resource on youtube is Jessica Smith TV. I love her workouts!

Jessica Smith's power walking vid (youtube) is also quite good - I use it on my 'rest day' it's quite gentle but can get your heart rate up and you use your arms quite a lot

I agree it's a gentle workout but you still sweat. It's mainly for women who need a modified cardio workout.

I like Walk Away The Pounds and Jessica Smith on youtube. If I want a longer one I'll go with WATP. If I want a shorter one (about 30 min) with more arm movements with less cackling and chatter I'll go with Jessica.
