stuck at 154

Five years ago I was weighing in at 240. I lost 120 pounds, I'm 5'4" and have a small frame. I gained 100 of it back over 4 years. Over the past year I've lost 66 pounds and I'm stuck at 154. I eat about 1200 calories a day. I even log my meds and vitamins. I don't drive due to a history of severe panic attacks, so I walk and bike every where I go. I have COPD so I can't exercise more strenuously or I can't breathe.

Any advice to get past this plateau? I want to lose about 30 more pounds.

Have you consulted with a qualified dietitian to help you balance your medication and food?

    Lori,

    68 pounds is incredible! Congratulations!

What type of medications are you on? I ask because it's my understanding that some can cause weight to stall.

Have you had your thyroid checked?

Your diary is not open so it's difficult to give concrete advice. Would it be possible to provide the key or make it public?
  • My daughter set it up so I'll ask her to make it public when she gets home.

My list of meds is a long one...
    Ability, imiprimine and xanax
    Trazadone and methocarbamol

I take a 1-a-day vitamin, flax, fish oil, ginsing, gingko, spirulina, wheatgrass, fiber. Also have to take vitamin D as I live in Portland, OR and we get no sun.
  • And I had a complete physical two weeks ago with bloodwork and everything couldn't look any better, thyroid is fine.

154 is not a bad place to be considering. What are you doing in terms of strength training? Adding some muscle will enhance your appearance and help increase your metabolism to burn fat. Sometimes being stuck means you need to shake things up.

Congrats on the weight loss. What settting did you put your activity level? If you are walking and riding bikes daily that would be lightly or moderately active. If you put sedentary and are eating 1200 calories but logging and therefore not eating your exercise calories then you could have too low of a caloric intake so your body is holding on to the weight. Just an idea. Good luck!
