I started at 250lbs, I am currently stuck at 186.4lbs for the last 2 months. I track with a bodymedia armband. I am starting to think it is time to switch things up, and I am re-evaluating my deficit amount.

I have gone back and forth between -500 and -750 per day, which has worked great. I am wondering when is the time to go to a smaller deficit and go to -250?

GW - 140-150lbs.

This is a great guide. I just went over it again for the umteenth time, so that I can make sure I have the right calories set.

The last 10-15 lbs or so. Some people go to -250 calories earlier depending on where their goal weight is in relation to a healthy weight range for their height in an effort to focus on fat loss. I tend to see that more on here with people who have a clothing size or body ideal in mind rather than a number on the scale.

I have gone from 178 - 148 since Christmas. I'm staying at a 500 planned deficit. My logic is this: its all theoretical. I will sometimes burn less than anticipated, and sometimes despite my best efforts my food log will be off. If I go to a 250 deficit, potential inaccuracies could kill my deficit.

Since you're using the Bodymedia, you have less concern over burn inaccuracy. But look for areas where you can firm up your logging accuracy. Be careful of the MPF database. Its great, but because users enter and edit information: double check your selections from time to time.
