HRM newbie has questions! Help!

Dealing with the learning curve...I'm so excited to start using my HRM! I bought the Polar F6.

I have a few questions (sorry if these seem silly, please bear with me). I read the manual and I've configured it with my personal settings and did an "Ownzone" five minute warmup this morning....I thought it was just a one-time thing that was part of the configuration process but it looks like you need to do it every time..?

1. Do you have to do the "Ownzone" warmup every time you work out? Or do you just jump right into a workout based on HR alerts?

2. Is there a way to set an alarm to go off after you reach a certain number of calories burned? I know some people say they are going to "walk until 300 calories o'clock" -- just wondering if you can set it to alert.

3. Have you uplinked to a PC yet? I can't figure out how/ where to do this. Are you finding this feature useful?

4. How do most people use their HRM?? Just hit the exercise button and go? I guess I'm still a bit confused on the difference between Ownzone and HR alerts and HR limits.

    Your ownzone will set itself, and remind you to check it every once in a while. Otherwise, just hit "exercise" and "start".

    2. Nope. . .I just watch til my goal is reached.

    4.I think your high/low Heart rates are based on what your heart rate is when you put the monitor on. It does a quick check before it gets a read.

    I have uploaded it, it's a pretty cool app, I don't use it very much, but if you like that stuff, it's pretty cool. you need to download the Polar uplink tool, and you need to create an account on the polar site and upload those results there.

    As far as I know high/low hr are based by default on age and weight. If you skip OwnZone test HRM just uses these.

    yeah, there is a formula to get your heart rate based on your age.
