On a mission to reach my goals...

Hey everyone,
My name is Lonnie. I'm 27, approaching 28 in June.
Back in high school I weighed 135 soaking wet and a decade later I've reached 235 and I'm not in the least bit thrilled about it.
I'm an enormous basketball fanatic; played it my entire life so that's something I'm looking to get back into heavily as part of my weight loss venture.
I'm wanting to get down to 180. I hated how skinny I was in high school, however I'd take that any day over what I look like these days.
I've started a workout regimen with 5 days of strength training a week with some sort of cardio each day such as a 1.5 mile run. On my two "off days" I've still kept the cardio, but added a 30 minute heavy bag session and a few abdominal exercises.
Every question I have had about fitness leads me here via google, so I opted to sign up. I hope to reach my goals, and with some encouragement and tips from this community, maybe do it quicker and more creatively than I would be able to on my own.
