MFP and FitBit - activist levels?

How should I set my activity levels when I use a fitbit sync'd to MFP? I have lost almost 40lbs since 01/01/14 but nothing has happened for the last few weeks (in fact it is going up rather than down!) so I want to make sure I have my settings correct!

I have MFP activity level set to sedentary and a calorie goal of 1520 a day. I am walking a minimum of 10k (aiming for 15k min if possible) steps a day which are logged in fitbit and sync'd to MFP.

I'm not sure if these settings are correct? I try to stick to around 1500 calories a day and don't eat the exercise calories unless I'm having a night out ????

Thanks for your help!

I have both MFP and FitBit set to sedentary and FitBit carrying over all data to MFP. It sounds like your settings are correct.

    1. Are you weighing all your food/drink and recording strictly?
    2. Have you adjusted your daily calories since you lost the 40 pounds? You're resting calories burned should have dropped.

It may be time to mess up those walks a little: add in some sprints and stairs.

I have fitbit and MFP set to sedentary. Any calories earned from fitbit I eat. Try eating a few exercise calories if you earn them... Just a thought.

10k-12k is lightly active in my opinion. Here is why I think that:

I have MFP set to lightly active, because though I'm lazy by nature I want to be more active. MFP has an 'idea' of how many calories a lightly active person of my height, weight, gender, age will burn. When MFP gets my information from Fitbit, MFP gives me extra calories to consume (if Fitbit shows I've burned more than MFP projected) or deducts calories (if I'm not active enough). SO my personal goal: move enough during the day to earn extra calories. Typically as long as I end the day with 10k+ then I earn an extra 200 or so calories.

Most days I eat 1400-1600, and leave 50-150 unused extra calories.

    Thanks

I managed to put on 700g yesterday with exercise and eating some of my exercise calories. I was eating out so I may not have been recording very well. At home I weigh EVERYTHING, at work I try to go to shops and buy salads where there are no dressings and the calories are listed on the packet but I can't weigh it all.

It's just really demoralising having come so far and done so well it now seems to be going backwards even though I'm still being good :-(
