So today is day 21 of my religiously logging on and eating 1300 calories (sometimes 100 or so calories above but usually the 1300 I'm assigned. I eat back half my exercise calories because I think MFP overestimates the calories burned. I havent lost even a single pound. So I've used a lot of different BMR calculators and the average is 1500 calories. So.. is this a good idea? It's very hard to up calories when I am already stressed about not losing. Does anyone else have similar stats and calories? I'm 25, 5'1 and 168 lbs

It is not a bad idea to up your calories,
It is also important to be logging your food accurately, weighing with a scale? measuring liquids? accounting for everything?
Note: I am not an example of this.
Try the higher calories for a month or two, if you are not noticing any changes then you may need to up your exercise or decrease your calories.0 -
There's a bunch of different factors. Stressing doesn't help with dieting because of hormones released. How much are you sleeping a night on average? If you're not sleeping enough then that stalls it as well. Also what does your macros look like (protein, carbs and fat %s)? Eating 1300 calories of majority carbs isn't the same of a healthy portion of PC&F. There's such thing as carbing out and eating too many fats. Also if you eat too much sodium, your body will retain water.
I personally used iifym.com to figure out how much macros I should be eating and how many calories. It's worked out for me so far You might gain a little weight at first from water retention and such, but it should come off after that
But long story short, there's SOOO many things that could be stopping your progress. Even hormone imbalances0 -
I am 5ft and 110 lbs. I used to lose when I was 125lbs and was having 1600 cals. So, I suppose you can safely increase your calories and may be do some strength training to boost your metabolism?0

THANK YOU for having an open diary!! Many people don't but want help and this makes it MUCH easier
Okay, you have to get a food scale. Seriously.
I do eat fast food on occasion. With stuff like french fries, you have to actually weigh it. Don't assume that the large fry contains the amount a large fry should. I have found fast food places put much more fries in then they are supposed to. For instance Burger King, I ordered a medium Satisfries. Took it home, weighed it, and it was actually more than what is supposed to be in a LARGE order. So, you MUST weigh these things, or overestimate. Now when I order that when I'm out, I will order a small and log it as a large.
All solids need to be weighed out. Liquids only can use a measuring cup. It is most likely the cause of your lack of losing weight..0
