Fake Gravy, yum, really!

I was very intrigued by the "macaroni and cheese" discussion over the weekend and really was interested in Rocco DiSpirito's "secret weapon" sauce mixture. I made brisket and mashed potatoes today and wondered if I could use Rocco's mixture for gravy. It worked and was really good!
I microwaved a chopped onion, two celery stalks, and two cloves of garlic for about 12 minutes with a little water until it was totally soft. Then I blended it, in the blender, with beef stock (I had cooled the drippings from my brisket and skimmed off the fat and strained it, but canned would work just fine). It just needed a little salt and pepper and I "browned" it up a little with Kitchen Bouquet (also called Gravy Master -- just adds caramel coloring).
Gravy at Thanksgiving is not going away at our house! Hooray!
