Cheat Day Left Me Under My Calorie Goal

Not a big success, but I wanted to share because I'm very excited. For the last month I've been making sure to eat around 1500 calories, which leaves me in the black at the end of the day (with a bit of exercise) between 400-600 calories. I want to try and keep this trend up - staying about 500 calories below my no-exercise recommended intake - as my recommended intake shifts down, and here's one reason why.
We found ourselves stuck in the city during rush hour. We knew traffic would be a nightmare, so we went out to eat to try and wait the whole thing out. And I broke down. I ordered wings, fries, and a beer. I didn't under-eat during the day to save my calories for this splurge. I didn't plan it. I just lost my resolve after a month of no wings - to be fair, wings are the most wonderful food known to man.
But here's the best part - I went home and input all my information and I was JUST under my recommended calorie intake! This doesn't mean I intend to splurge every night, but I definitely have a lot of resolve today knowing that I 'cheated' yesterday but it didn't necessarily hurt my weight loss goals. I really want to make this a lifestyle change.
Anyway, like I said - not a huge success story. But I'm flying high this morning!

Mmm, wings AND beer! I think I know what I'm having for my next cheat meal  :drinker:
Sounds like a great accomplishment, albeit an unintentional one, and goes to show that you can live a "normal" life and still be healthful!0 -
Congrats!:happy:0

Thanks everyone! It was just a nice little surprise to realize, like Pseudomuffin just said, this can be a normal life. One that doesn't involve guilt-sobbing over a weak day or keeling over from hunger.0

Wings + fries + beer = Heaven. (Can I get a side of ranch for the wings AND the fries?) Good for you!0

That would be a cheat day failure!0

The one thing we started doing was buffalo chicken salad. Grilled chicken, buffalo sauce (warmed with a bit of margarine for thickness) on a salad with ranch. So yes, we use both dressings. But it ... helps keep the need for wings at bay.0
