Time spent on exercise

Is it better to workout 3 times a week for 60 minutes per session or 6 times a week for 30 minutes a session?

I row for about 60 minutes twice a week and have just joined a gym to use the weights which is taking me well over an hour to do the programme set out for me by the PT and im not slacking off taking big breaks between sets. i'm worried i'll burn out after a few weeks and lose heart. the programme is for a full body workout once a week so i was thinking of breaking it down to specific body parts and going more often. which would be better? 3 times a week would give me more rest days but 6 times a week would be less intense and thus easier to do over a long period of time.

thanks in advance.

Try both and see what works for you. But why are you only doing the resistance routine once per week? It's tough sledding to get results by training so infrequently

I'm not trained in this so this is only my routine. I do three strength training classes a week and three cardio ones. I'm maintaining my weight and feel great.

what ever works for you. It also depends on the workout. Your more intense workouts can be shorter.

However, as previous poster eluded to. Resistance training should be done more often. Only doing it one day a week is kind of pointless.

I personally workout 5 to 6 days a week and each session is usually an 50 to 60 minutes. If everything goes as planned I get 3 days of lifting in and 2 to 3 days of cardio.

I'd say 6 times a week is better. Your body needs to move every day.
