Anyone got a good macaroni salad recipe? Something tried and true? I've never made it before but I want to make some for a BBQ. I already bought a container of REAL mayo - something I've never bought before! - so health and calories are not a concern here :P Just tastyness!

This came from www.food.com but this is our favorite... Sometimes I put in a bit of horseradish. Hope you will like this...

    Ingredients:

    Servings:
    8

1 lb small shell pasta, cooked
1 lb shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    1 lb cubed ham
1 lb frozen tiny peas, defrosted
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup salad dressing (recommend Miracle Whip)
    1 teaspoon seasoning salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Minced onion to taste.. About 1 Tblsp.
    2 boiled eggs chopped

3 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped or 1 tablespoon dried dill
    Directions:

Place cooled cooked pasta, ham, cheese, peas and cheese in a large bowl; mix well.

I used a cup of mayo instead of part salad dressing. If too thick thin with a little dill pickle juice..

I just got my grandma's tuna salad recipe which my boyfriend likes better than his moms. She doesn't have an exact recipe, but:

    2 cups Macaroni noodles
    1/2 jar green olive
    1 onion finely chopped
1 large can of Tuna drained (she says has to be the one packed in oil)
    1-2 cups of Miracle Whip
5-6 Boiled Eggs (can save some slices to garnish the top)
    Salt and Pepper to taste

Cook noodles per directions on package, then cool. She combines the Miracle Whip with the tuna first, then combines all ingredients. My aunt adds Mrs. Dash original spice which is good. If you make it the night before, you will have to add extra mayo the night before or before serving because the noodles will absorb it and can become dry.
