Alternative rating methodology

Yeah... I'm slacking at work so I decided to add to the pile of rating threads (don't like it? long hair... don't care).
So basically, the major flaw in rating sites (and rating threads) is that they over-inflate ratings because ... game theory.
If you rate someone low, its a lose-lose... you make someone not like you, you gain nothing by it
If you rate someone high, its a win-win... you make someone like you, you lose nothing for it
For guys, this is especially true.
So how do you get a more accurate rating? Simple... ranking.
Rather than ask people to give an arbitrary number between 1 and 10, you force people to rank others and use percentiles to sort out the rating.
People get broken down into five categories based on how they rank on the bell curve:
Hideous (more than 1 standard dev. from the mean on the ugly side)
Unattractive (low side of the mean but within 1 standard dev)
Average (around the mean)
Attractive (high side of the mean but within 1 standard dev)
Gorgeous (higher than 1 standard dev from the mean on the attractive side)
TL;DR: Rating threads are dumb. If you seriously want people's opinion, post here and I will put together something that will actually be an accurate representation.
I will close submissions in 48 hrs
