counting calories: weekly vs daily

I've been counting m calories using a daily goal like MFP lays out for me and it's been pretty successful so far-so I will most likely not mix things up until maybe I reach a plateau.

I'm just curious. I've been reading about weekly vs daily calorie and nutrient counting but I can't really find any solid evidence that supports one more than the other. I'd be curious to hear from people who have looked at their weekly numbers rather than daily. How did/does it go for you?

It doesn't matter. Eating 2500 calories 7 days a week is the same as eating 2000 calories 6 days a week and 5500 once a week is the same as eating 2000 calories 4 days a week and 3166.66 3 days a week. (If my math is correct that is...lol)

havent done it personally but i imagine it would be a b*tch since the end of the week would show up and there could be little left for your calorie goal. i would stick to day to day personally.

for people who do fasting diets it would make some sense though to count weeks instead of days

I try to stay in my daily goal, sometimes I am under, somtimes I am over...so I go to weekly and see where I can correct it without hurting myself (being hungry)

I am often right on target for weekly goals..

Like last week...drank Friday night went over by about 700...but the previous 4 days I had been under by about 50-100 each day...by the end of the week I was actually under by 32 and I wasn't hungry and still had my treats...

But yes if you just go for weekly what happens on saturday afternoon when they are gone..all gone...eek.
