In college taking swimming

I'm in college taking a swimming class to get in shape, and lose weight. I had a really bad cramp and went to see my doctor. He told me about this site and so far so good. It's FREEEE! I've been up and down for a long time, so hopefully this time it sticks. With the recession it was harder to get my core classes so I signed up for swimming to at least get my general out of the way. I am so happy I did. Even though its cold and rainy the pool is heated and boy of boy it is a great work out.

    I am training for a half ironman (race is this Saturday) I swim 2-3 times per week. I get leg cramps from time to time. Take a plastic water bottle with you and drink during the workout. You are still sweating even though you are in the pool. You use a lot of muscles that you don't normally use. If you start to feel a muscle take it easy that lap and then stretch/massage when you get to the end of the lane. Oh and eat something small before you go. Your body needs fuel. Enjoy the water.
