An Introduction...

Hello,

My name is Sasha. I've actually had an account with MyFitnessPal now for a couple years, but I am just now taking it seriously. I've never really participated in any kind of forum before, but I figure now is a good time. I can definitely use the support!

I am 31 years old, and I live in Northern California. I work for a freight logistics company, and also go to school part time. I am hoping to finally obtain a Bachelor's degree in business sometime in the next few years. I am a classically trained pianist, and first starting teaching at the age of 12. The past few years, I have stopped playing seriously, but still like to play occasionally for fun. I love playing video games, watching scifi movies, hanging out with my family and friends, and going on adventures.

Right now, I weight about 215lbs. If you saw me, you wouldn't believe it. I carry my weight very well. But, that is besides the point. I am incredibly uncomfortable with how much I weigh. My clothes don't fit, my feet hurt, and I don't feel as youthful as I used to. Five years ago I went on a version of the Atkins diet, and lost 70lbs, working my way down to 150lbs. Unfortunately, since then I have worked at tremendously stressful jobs, and began drinking heavily. I gained all the weight back. In the last month, I quit drinking and have started eating low-carb again. In addition, I work out on my lunch breaks every day. I feel better and have more energy, but am still struggling to lose weight.

I am hoping that participating in the forums and groups on MyFitnessPal will help give me the accountability and support I think I need during this process.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! :)

Find a good group or two, and some helpful MFP friends. Oh, and get yourself a food scale. You'll be glad you did. I'd wish you good luck but it's not luck, it's work and intentional focus that loses weight.

Feel free to friend me if you want.
  • Thank you, I appreciate it! It's daunting, but I've done it before and I can totally do it again!
  • Hello, I know what you are going through... I am here for the same reason... good luck....
