I started my "new life" a month ago tomorrow. I felt great the first couple of weeks, but slowly but surely i've been feeling more and more run down. I don't know what gives! Excercise is suppose to make you feel good. Eating healthy is suppose to make you feel good. I feel worse now than I did 13 pounds ago!

Has anyone had this happen? Does anyone have any suggestions about getting my pep back in my step?

You could be missing nutrients since changing your eating habits. Do you take vitamins? I drink Shakeology every day since starting this new lifestyle and it gives me tons of energy (no caffeine) and tons of other benefits.

You may need more food. I glanced at your food diary and noticed on days you workout you are leaving a lot of calorie on the table. MFP is set up so you will lose weight with eating your exercise calories, you may want to eat more of them. Food is fuel your body uses for energy, if you don't get enough you will be tired. Also make sure you are eating the right kinds of food. High protein and complex carbs will provide you with energy, and make sure you get enough sleep 7.5-9 hours/day, this is when your body does most of its recovery.

I'm the exact same way! I just posted a blog about it! LOL!

I'm right there with you, so unfortunately, I don't have any solutions at the moment... just wanted to let you know that you're not alone... :-)

Feel free to add me if you need a buddy...

I agree with erickirb. I only glance at the last 2 weeks of your diary but you are definitely not eating enough. As a woman you are supposed to eat no less than 1200 calories ON TOP of calories burned from exercise. This is so your body can function properly, you have an adequate amount of energy, and you get the nutrients you need. There are many days you are allowing your body under 1000 cals. If you burn 600 cal through exercise you need to eat some or all of them back. MFP has already created the deficit for you to lose the weight you selected per week when you set up your goals. The exercise is just an added bonus BUT you do not want to leave yourself less than 1200 cals for your body to use (unless of course a dr has cleared this for you). For men it is 1500.

I have been feeling the same also. I spoke with my Dietician about it and she suggested that I eat some protein & carbs right after my workout (within the hour). She said it doesn't have to be alot of calories maybe a yogurt or a protein shake or something. I have just started trying this out so not sure if it's made a difference just yet.

I'm going to say more veggies and water, consider a multivitamin. Also cosigning the sleep for 8 hrs. Depending on how recently you cut out sugar you could also be withdrawing, which can be a good thing.

I am by no means a nutritionist or trainer but I looked at your diary too and I see that your eating patterns are all over - some days you skip lunch, others you skip dinner - but like me, you are also a grazer when it comes to snacks. You should try to build a little more structure into your meals - change up some of your snacks into proper meals - your energy will level out more instead of climbing and dipping so much. Perhaps 6 smaller meals a day are better for the way you want to eat..

When I'm feeling weak, I'm not eating enough OR I'm not eating enough REAL food. Hope this helps!

I'm not taking a multi, i'm only taking an iron supplement because I have a history of anemia. I've been thinking I should take a multi, but figured that since i'm eating fruits and veggies all the time that I should be getting more nutrients then when I was when I was eating crappy food. I'll have to check out what my protein shakes have in them. I know they are loaded with vitamins, but i'm not sure which ones.

The calories i'm still having a hard time with. I bumped my weekly goal to 1.5 pounds because the 1200 didn't seem like enough. I'm also having an issue with the excercise calories. I've seen that a lot of people think that MFP is very generous with their work out calories (as do I), so i've only been eating around half of them. In that case, most days I should only be eating around (1200 + half of excercise calories) 1400, which I almost always hit. My biggest "meal" being during lunch.

I'm eating more now than I was in the beginning....and that's why I don't completely understand this.

Water intake. well, what I input on here is the minimum I drink during the day at work. It's not counting what I drink at the gym, because I often can't remember how much water i've guzzled during my work outs.

What are some good complex carbs? I eat fruits and veggies all day long, but i've not been eating too many carbs outside of that.

Thanks for all the answers! I guess i'll try and up the calories some more and take a multi. I have a hard time eating all of them, and unlike before, i'm right on track for the amount of weight I should be losing each week. I finally feel like i'm in a routine, and then this....grrr. ; ).

    Thanks again all!
