Mt. Katahdin - My motivation

I'm coming for you! Growing up in northern Maine I've hiked pretty much every mountain in its surrounding area. I remember our teacher had us read a book called "Lost On A Mountain In Maine". I recommend anyone who likes a good read to get this book you won't be sorry. Anyways, I've always had this desire to get to the top of that mountain. It's become a huge motivation for me and my first real fitness goal. I'd love to get in amazing shape before all is said and done and climb really challenging mountains in the future, but for now this is the first mountain on my list. After I conquer Katahdin and am in better shape, I plan on seeking out progressively harder summits in the U.S. until I can not only afford, but perform a life/perspective changing summit.

Anyone else have anything similar that they can focus on as a source of motivation?

I love hiking. Getting in shape makes it far more enjoyable.
