Here I am, again?

Every time I do one of the introductory posts I swear it is going to be the last one. I feel much more optimistic about this one however.

I am 35, and currently weigh about 250, down from my all time high of 270. i want to get down to about 130, but that is negotiable based on strength and muscle gains made through strength training. I've been at this most recent attempt for approximately 6 weeks. I currently am enrolled in a medically supervised weight loss program where I take a drug for weight loss (topirimate), but am thinking of stopping when the current cycle is up. I am insulin resistant and have a bit of a cholesterol issue (my very small LDL particle count was very high), and some problems with systemic inflammation. So I'm not the healthy fat lady I had thought I was. As a result, I'm taking this attempt a lot more seriously than other attempts in the past, and have made a lot of significant changes, essentially overnight.

So far, the changes have stuck. Initially, I had decided to "go it alone"--not have friends on MFP. But then I listened to a podcast with interviews with weight loss bloggers and got inspired to start blogging. And that inspired me to reach out on MFP. So friend me! Talk to me! Kick my butt when it needs it, and I'll kick yours. I'll be nice, too. It won't be all mean and butt-kicking, I promise.

Edited because capitalization is good.
