Woah- why am i so tired??

I've been getting back into my workout routine this week (finals and two months of a series of bad infections knocked me off track. i was dancing 2x a week and doing 2 30 minute toning/light cardio sessions in my classes each week still, though), and getting back to eating healthily and watching my intake. i'm 5'0", about 116-118, and eating around 1600 calories a day (a 500 daily deficit based on my running and workout schedule).

i didn't work out very hard yesterday, just a 40 minute power walk/light jog, then 20 minutes or so of strength (15 lb hand weight arm exercises and some squats).

then i had three vials of blood drawn today for some lab work.

tonight i'm super exhausted and so hungry despite being at my max intake for the day. and i didn't work out. which of these things could be causing this? yesterday was the first time i did strength in a while....

Infections will do that. Give yourself time to fully recover physically.

Recoving from your recent illness takes tiime, as mentioned. What about your sleep patterns as well? You mentioned "finals", so I can assume a lot of late night study and possibly not getting a routine and consistent night's sleep. It all could mix together so when you did the weights and the power walk - it fatigued a bit more than you were expecting.

Tired and Hungry, maybe add an extra 200 calories into your day, if you're using more energy you need to fuel it??

All of the above. I wouldn't be trying for 1 lb a week weight loss at your current weight - esp given the illnesses. I would set your goals to 1/2 lb of weight loss or even eat at maintenance for a couple weeks until you're re-adjusted to a heavier exercise regimen

    1) Possibly going back to a deficit intake too soon after illness and other stress from which you are still recovering.

    2) Resuming exercise like this: day I is always hard, due to something to do with expanding your plasma volume again apparently. If this is ALL that it is, tomorrow and next day get progressively more normal.

I'd suggest eating to a level in/out for a bit longer and see what next 2-3 days brings. If suffering same/ worse, may need longer recovery- all depends what illnesses you refer to & how long ago these things were exactly.
