Minor win

Ok, first off: Hi everyone, never introduced myself despite being an active member of the site for a couple of months now.
I've had some good results since I joined the site, I've lost 32lbs in 8 weeks but today I have something I need to celebrate.
I finished university knowing that a train that would get me home would be leaving in ten minutes. The university is a mile away from the train station but with uni books and a few layers on (its freezing where I am, who would have thought that losing a bit of weight would make you feel the cold alot more? lol) 3 months ago I wouldn't have even tried to make it. Today I did.
Despite the layers and the heavy uni bag I ran the mile in 6 minutes dead. This is a huge accomplishment for me, I was a sprinter in high school and never got into the distance running, as it was my first ever mile completed by running alone. I've been jogging a little bit recently interspersed with walking but I've never done a mile of none stop running.
Even better was that I wasn't completely out of breath when I got there, I could have continued. I'm now thinking of trying to repeat the feat the weekend, and hopefully go a little further!

how amazing! it's the side effects of getting fit that are the coolest.
and it's funny you mention how losing weight makes you notice the cold more--a good friend of mine, who is 75 lbs down, is working on a standup comedy routine about why it sucks to lose weight (all sarcasm, of course). and that is one of his topics!0
