I'm doing all the suggested stretches to prevent shin pain and it's helped, but they are brutally tight when I go for walks.
Is the tightness normal? If so, I'm sure they will loosen if I keep it up.

One thing to always keep in mind when it comes to shins are your shoes. I used to suffer from shin pain or splints as they call it. I replaced my shoes (6 months if a lot of activity is life expectancy) and within a week or so they pain was gone. Many times people get attached to their shoes and don't want to get new ones just after 6 months, but if you are doing a lot of physical activity you might want to to keep your knees and legs well supported. Also keep in mind the type of shoe for the type of activity.0

do some stretches before to warm up your muscles and after to cool down.0
