No Sugar Added Recipes Needed - Especially Breakfast
Hello all. I met with a nutritionist May 1 to get help with weight loss. She informed me that the American Heart Association now recommends 25 g of added sugar or less/day. I can't eat any yogurt except plain because sugar is added to almost all foods. I have lost 7.5 lbs since May 1, which is great, but it has been expensive to eat Quest protein bars every day. I really need some website recommendations for recipes with no added sugar (which includes honey unfortunately). Any of the following 44 sugars are out too! Could use support from anyone following a no sugar added diet too! Thanks! Jill, Chicago, IL

Feel free to Frend me for Ideas, but you want to eat Whole, Non processed foods...
Eggs, Chicken Breast, Veggies, Nuts...0 -
Breakfast? Eggs, eggs, eggs. Of course, I am biased since I get mine from the coop outside, but still. Over medium, scrambled, omelettes, hard boiled, fritattas, etc.
0% Greek yogurt with frozen fruit is a good one if you need sweet. Mix it up the night before and put it in the fridge. Let the fruit juices thaw and stir.0 -
Eggs, as others have mentioned. You can make them a hundred ways adding veggies, fresh salsa's, etc. Whole grain, unprocessed oatmeal is always a good one. We like to add fruit to our oatmeal to make it different; same for cream of wheat. They make both of these as pure grain, no sugar added. There are also a few cereals out there that are no sugar added; like puffed wheat or puffed brown rice. If they are all natural either wheat or rice is the only ingredient. You can have plain yogurt, just add fruit or no sugar added granola to enhance the flavor some.
I hope that helps.0
