A very important scientific paper was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association which was explained in the New York Times piece, "Always Hungry? Here's Why" . Both are worth reading.

There seems to be a flaw in the thinking that eating less and exercising more will solve all weight loss problems. But science is now proving that different foods trigger different biochemical responses. Some foods will spike blood sugar and cause hunger and storage of fat and some foods will increase the burning of fat and make us feel full.
