Hello, I just started a a little diet, with a goal to drop 20 lbs. I have the p90x but I haven't look to it, so if anyone can get me some advice, perhaps share some experiences...by the way, if you live in the Northern Virginia area and feel up to the challenge, give me a shout out!

Hi! Hubby and I are on our 3rd round of P90X. All I can say is, decide you are going to try your best for 90 days and then commit to pressing play 6 days a week. It has changed our lives and will get those 20 lbs off of you, but nutrition is a big part of the program, so the Heineken will need to go. Feel free to friend me and ask me any questions! I would love to help you out.0

You can do it!!! One of my friends was doing p90X. He's not overweight, just looking to put on muscle. He got lazy and said it was hard. His brother actually committed to it thought and he got built pretty quick. In the first 2 weeks you can tell he was getting bigger. He then got a girlfriend and stopped working out. There's only one thing stopping me from doing p90x and that's money..well and i have nowhere you use a pull up bar lol. I say you do IT. My friends said it was awesome0

P90X is great. It's hard but it's well worth it. The only thing that sucks is it's an hour, sometimes up to an hour and a half depending on what you do. So you need to make sure you have time. You don't have to have a pull up bar either...Tony always has someone show you what to do w/ a resistance band instead. That's what I use because I don't have a pull up bar either.0

Phase 3, week 10 and I have lost 25lbs. Understand you need to follow the nutrition guide and commit to the workouts...I have not spoke with anyone that has made a difference doing just one or the other. I can tell you that if you stick with it, you will get the results they advertise...
Good luck0 -
I love P90X and worked with the program before deploying to Iraq. I was pretty active but it gave me a challenge. Unfortunately just had a baby with surgery and can't start it up again, otherwise that would be my choice.

Thanks for the encouragement, I think so far the hardest part for me is the fact that I have to do this alone, sometimes when you work out alone you tend to be lazy or not 100% motivated. The beers ( and wine, rum, vodka, cigars ) are all gone and it feels great. Now the challenge is to keep within my calorie limits and resist the urge to eat late at night.0

Thanks, I was just going to respond with that!
You don't have to do this alone. We have a thread going ... some people started on the 1st others are just now getting started. All I can say is making the commitment is the first step and probably the most difficult... but once you start, I think you will enjoy it and it helps to have a thread to get some info/insight from or just for someone to say great job!
I tend to be competitive and I have a goal in mind for everything... that helps the laziness. You have time to be lazy AFTER you work-out!!! :bigsmile:0
