I'm sorry, silly site question?

First off, let me apologize if this is in the wrong section and please feel free to move it if it is.

I have a site question about adding recipes in. When I put the recipe in and save it, it remembers it so I can reuse it. I have a couple of friends on here who occasionally eat at my place but they can't search by the name I've given the recipes and use the same info in their diaries. Is it possible to save a recipe in such a fashion that others can use it to or is it solely for my use?

Thanks for any assistance!

I think you can share it to the Myfitnesspal community. But also, if they are friends with you on here, and you have your diary open, they can go to your diary and copy your meal to their diary. They just have to click on "quick tools", and "copy to today"

Yes you can share the recipe in the data base. Otherwise you could write down the food values and they could enter the info in their own data base and add it. If they are weighing and measuring, make things that can be added with simple entries such as steak or chicken breasts with your sides as things like baked potatoes or steamed veg.

There should be an option when you save that allows it to be public to the community, near the bottom of the page on the left, depending on which recipe entry version you use.

When I input them, I see something that asks if I want to share with the recipe database. When I've said yes or no, my friends can't search and find them. Oh well. I had forgotten about their ability to go to my diary and copy and paste though. That'll work too, lol. If they're eating here with me, the meals should be the same for all of us! Thanks!

My husband and I have our diaries open to friends (which I recommend regardless) and copy our meals from each others diaries. I have a couple of other friends that stop by occasionally to eat that use the app and it seems to work out well.
