Forum Threads thank you

I have been a member of MFP since 2009 I have not done anything until April 10, 2014. I am a morbidly obese 39 yo with a lot to lose. I have decided to do a medically supervised diet plan and have lost 26 pounds in over a month. I know that my weight loss will drop to 1- 2 lbs a week and I am happy for that. This is my longest stetch with a lifestyle change and for those of you who post helpful topics on the forum threads I thank you for that. Here are a few things that I think I have learned through the threads please feel free to correct me if I am wrong I promise I won't get "butthurt" as I have seen through the threads. I appreciate any responses.

First I am glad to see that cardio isn't the end all and be all. (Thank you sweet baby Jesus for that!) I despise cardio other than riding my bike. I thought I had to become a marathon runner to look as good as many of you do! I have learned that I need to start lifting and lifting heavy at that. I guess my thoughts of starting with soup cans won't last very long! Bodybuilder website here I come. Oh and I'm glad to hear that those annoying DVD's geared for women are mainly cardio and again I despise cardio.

Secondly I was a member of the "gym that shall not be named" and I quit because I broke my foot and my husband had to go on disability due to kidney failure. The financial aspect was to demanding every penny I earn I have to spend elsewhere. When I can go back to a gym, I realized that A. No one is paying attention to what I am doing and B. If they are paying attention they most likely are proud as I should be that I'm out there. Thanks for that. All you who have met your goal and are well just in "perfect shape" IMO are really nice and supportive people and I REALLY appreciate that. Oh, one last thing on this topic, I was always of the assumption that the people in the "gym that shall not be named" were always perfect bodied little people who have never struggled and would never understand. You have proven me wrong because some of those people could have been just like me a few years ago.

Finally, I just wanted to say a final thank you to all of those who have given great advice, I for one and out here watching and soaking up all the knowledge that you have to offer!
