How much water is too much water?

Hey everyone, I've been curious about this topic for a while now, and would like to hear from other athletes/health nuts! On a normal day I drink around 5L of water plus a litre or two of green tea (I know, I'm kind of addicted) and I play soccer/workout pretty intensely 5 or 6 days a week. Thank you! :)

If you're feeling sick, bloated, or just 'off' you might be drinking too much water. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

Like EselleMN said, unless you're getting sick or bloated, don't worry about it.

Too much water dilutes the sodium in your bloodstream and causes confusion, headaches, nausea, and bloating. If you haven't felt these, you are not drinking too much. Also, if your pee is close to clear, you might want to cut back a little. The pee of a properly hydrated person is the color of a manila folder. The darker yellow/orange the color the more dehydrated you potentially are (dark urine can be a symptom of other things too but that is another discussion).
