I think it depends on your goals. If you're just starting out, apps like c25k and (what I'm currently using) Running for Weight Loss PRO (£2.49) might be better to get you into the swing of things. I like the app I'm using because I don't usually like running very much but interval training makes it easy. It's got a lot of tips and hints, tells you when to start running/sprinting/walking and I like having a structured program as it suggests running three times a week which I do on my off days from lifting. I wouldn't recommend it too strongly as I like seeing a calendar of my workouts which this doesn't have and it's pricier than I would have liked.
However, there are plenty of apps to use if you just want to track. I also like using Endomondo because I cycle so it's good to track everything. I've heard good things about Runkeeper and the Nike training app. These are free so why not just try them out?0 -

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I'm currently using Strava and I have previously used RunKeeper. I prefer Strava's interface but I like RunKeeper's bell's and whistles. I was looking for suggestions to perhaps find an app that was similar to them both. Hehe.0 -
I like RunMeter. Not to be confused with RunKEEPER which you say you've tried, I find its GPS to be most accurate of the ones I've used. They have a free version which is fine; I ended up buying the paid version to get a few more bells & whistles like stop detection but that's because I'm practically an app junkie :laugh:0

I use Runtastic, but Nike+ seems to be a very popular one, so I downloaded it to give it a try. It looks like it gives you badges for exceeding previous times and other things. I have not checked it out much yet.0

It depends on what your needs are, like everyone else says. But I really like Charity Miles. It tracks your progress AND you can help out charities while you do it! Last time I did it I walked my dog for 2.565 miles and donated 6.41 puppy and kitten vaccinations. I think it's a great way to get more out of your workout.0
