Cardiovascular Fitness

I recently got a Polar HRM. According to it, my target range during exercise is 126-165. A brisk walking pace brings me up to 140, and jogging puts me outside of it, at 170-180. I've been alternating walking/jogging to stay at 160 or so. Will my cardiovascular fitness eventually improve to where I can jog and stay within my target range?

dont worry about the target range, just go by your rate of perceived exertion.0
